Dr. King received her Doctor of Pharmacy (2005) degree from the Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy (formerly known as University of Southern Nevada College of Pharmacy). She then completed an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency at UMC and afterward accepted a position at UMC as a clinical specialist in emergency medicine and PGY1 residency coordinator. In 2008, she transitioned to a clinical pharmacy specialist in critical care, where she precepted both residents and students. She became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) in 2006 and Board Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacist (BCNSP) in 2009. Dr. King helped develop the PGY-2 Critical Care Residency and had served as the program director until 2017 when she became the Director of Pharmacy. She serves on many committees throughout the institution, including the Critical Care Committee and Medication Safety and Evaluation Committee. Outside of UMC, Dr. King had formerly served as a committee member on the ASHP New Practitioners Science and Research Advisory Group, and has been a peer reviewer for Pharmacotherapy and the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy
